After eating heavy in the middle of the day, I wasn't too hungry for dinner. I ate a small snack of dates and a scoop of peanut butter a little before eight: And then just to take with my antibiotic, I had a small handful of pretzels at nine: Now I'm winding down for the night in preparation for the work week. I'm only heading into a four-day week though, because I have off Friday for my younger sister's graduation. Exciting!!
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekends =)

So far today Ryan and I ventured to an auto shop, Barnes and Noble, and of course stopped to eat lunch. We decided to eat at Moe's. I've mentioned a while back that at restaurants Ryan and I are creatures of habit; we typically order the same appetizer, same entree, etc. At Moe's I usually have two signature dishes that I opt for, but today I actually felt like branching out. Also, before heading out I snacked on some vanilla Chobani. I swear this antibiotic is revving my metabolism! On with the afternoon!
When I was shopping this afternoon I started to get a really bad headache, so I cut it short and went back home. Right after getting in I was starving. Being that I had just eaten a full lunch not too long before, I decided to slam a glass of milk. That did just the trick. I think the antibiotic is messing with my body. Ever since this afternoon I keep getting super hungry, even after eating substantial amounts of food. So needless to say, when it came dinner time I was starving again. I didn't want to spend time cooking, and I didn't want to go out to get anything, so I heated up the last of the barbecue chicken leftovers. I did take the five minutes to cook up some whole wheat couscous though. I served that with the chicken and vegetables. I also made a side salad with baby spinach, carrots, and some avocado. It's been a long time since I've eaten an avocado. I used to eat them all the time, but Ryan doesn't like them so I haven't bothered to buy them. This one was from my mom. And all together: Finally, around 9 o' clock I toasted up a whole wheat pita and smeared it with peanut butter, to eat while taking my antibiotic. I'm still a little hungry, but I'm also tired. Most likely I'm just going to drink a bunch of water and head to bed soon. Have I already mentioned that I despise being on antibiotics? ;-)
I am so bummed out tonight. I had fun plans to go out and meet my cousin at a favorite bar, but I had to cancel because of my infection. I met with the Dr. at work today and he prescribed me a heavy duty antibiotic for one week, so no drinking for me until then. I'm just so down because I really look forward to the weekend, and right now it seems shot. Earlier today though I did eat a more substantial lunch and snack. After dinner last night I packed up some of the leftovers to eat at lunch today. I had a piece of the barbecue chicken and some bell peppers on a toasted TJ's whole wheat bun. It was delicious. On the side I had some juicy honeydew, fresh baby carrots, and Goldfish. I love them! FYI, eating a little bit everyday when I crave them helps to diffuse the trigger. Because I'm on antibiotics again (which by the way, I despise being on) I made sure to eat yogurt as my snack. I had the 0% Fage that I picked up yesterday, and oh my have I forgotten how acquired a taste plain yogurt is! Fortunately I remembered to expect the bitterness and packed half a Cashew Cookie Larabar to eat with it. The dates did the trick to sweeten it up! And now I'm ready for lights out! I've had enough of today for today. Here's to hoping an improved weekend is on the way. I have a bad case of the blehs.
Hello! Tonight for dinner I cooked up one of the recipes I have listed under my "Recipes" page; baked barbecue chicken with bell peppers and sugar snap peas, with brown rice. This meal always comes out so tasty. It's one of Ryan's favorites. Anyway he'll get his veggies in sounds good to me =) After lounging around for a bit and packing up my eats for tomorrow, I decided I was still a little hungry. I popped up my last 100cal pack of Kettle Corn. I'm going to have to remember to add those to the grocery list. I feel they're a great low cal, filling snack item to have on hand. Can't go wrong with tasty, nutritious, light, and filling! I am so happy tomorrow is Friday. I have plans to meet up with one of my cousins at night. I'm looking forward to that; I haven't seen him in over a year I think! I hope you all have fun plans to look forward to this weekend too!
Sorry to keep you waiting! I came home from work and immediately popped in my pilates DVD because I knew if I stalled at all there'd be a good chance I'd convince myself not to do it. I'm ultra low on my vanilla Chobani, so during lunch I stopped at Trader Joe's for a few things and picked up some Greek yogurt. I got a plain Fage 0%, which I used to eat all the time, and a Trader Joe's Greek vanilla. They don't carry the Chobani brand. I had the TJ's one as my snack today. When I opened the container I was impressed to actually be able to see the vanilla beans in the yogurt, but upon tasting it I became less impressed. It was a little too sweet for my liking, and it didn't really taste like vanilla. I ate it with a scoop of peanut butter and that made it more enjoyable. Even though I didn't like it, I'm still happy to try new things.
Now I have to go hit the shower and get dinner started. See you later tonight! This afternoon my usual yogurt snack made an appearance at lunch. Last night I stood in front of my open fridge for about five minutes trying to decide what to pack for today's eats, and nothing was popping out at me. Finally I decided that instead of trying to eat different things, I'd just switch the order around. Enter my yogurt at lunch. I was getting full rather quickly and never got around to eating the bell pepper. Later on in the afternoon I ate my snack in parts. First I had a TLC Pumpkin Pie Bar. Then I had a hard boiled egg. Earlier this afternoon Ryan and I decided that neither of us would be cooking a formal dinner tonight (he's feeling a bit under the weather), so I'm on my own! Lots of times when it's just me for dinner I opt for breakfast options or simple pb&j sandwiches. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how the mood strikes when it comes dinner time! I was definitely starving today when it came time for lunch, and that surprised me because I thought my waffle-sandwich breakfast would actually hold me over longer than the cereal. Oh well, guess you never can tell! Later in the afternoon, as per usual, I had my snack of vanilla Chobani. I topped it with crushed walnuts. Now I'm looking forward to a relaxing evening with Ryan. See ya before bed!
I want to apologize. I feel like I haven't been the most thrilling blogger lately. Do you ever just get in a down mood sometimes and can't seem to shake it? For some reason this entire weekend I was very blah, but last night I definitely broke out of my funk. I am feeling tons better today and am so happy to be over it. By the time the training was over, I ate everything photoed. For breakfast I ate dry "U" cereal. It's my first time trying that cereal and I think it's absolutely delicious! I also ate the grapes, and drank some milk that's inside that travel mug. For lunch time I ate a peanut butter and raspberry preserves sandwich on Ezekiel bread, baby carrots, and an apple. I felt so much better eating my own food versus having to settle with what was offered. When I got home I immediately went for my typical yogurt snack. I ate some vanilla Chobani with pecans, and drank my cranberry juice/water mix. Still working on getting better!! Also, major accomplishment: Since starting this blog, and because of starting this blog, I have been binge-free for one whole month. Everything I have eaten since May 8th has been documented here. No more, no less. It is such a wonderful feeling to have such control over my eating, and also have it seem so easy. Photographs make you really listen to your body. They definitely nip that feeling of remorse or defeat in the bud! Thank you all for all of your support, and for following my blog! It really means so much to me, and it's such great motivation to stay on track and achieve my goals.
Thank you! =) I started off today really uppity, but my energy drastically faded somewhere around lunch time. A stomach pang hit me around 11:30, but instead of diving into my whole lunch I snacked on the pretzels first. About forty-five minutes later I ate the rest of my lunch. I had deli chicken and a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on a toasted ww pita, half an orange, some baby carrots, and a pickle. Finally, mid-afternoon I had my trusted snack of vanilla Chobani, this time mixed with some crushed walnuts. I'm going to try and make it a point to eat yogurt everyday I'm taking the antibiotics. And of course, throughout the day I was sipping on a 16oz bottle of about 3 parts water 1 part cranberry juice. Still working on feeling better!
